Tricksmith Games, LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Irish 25: Card Game mobile application and the irish25cardgame.com website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app or website.

Information We Collect

User Identifiers

We collect identifiers to provide core app functionality:

  • A randomly generated anonymous ID (via Firebase Authentication)
  • Your Apple Game Center ID, if signed in, used to deliver achievements on iOS

These identifiers allow us to save your progress, sync data across devices, and enable multiplayer features.

Profile Information

To use multiplayer and social features, you choose:

  • A display name (3–20 characters; visible to other players)
  • An avatar (selected from in-app options; visible to other players)

These are visible to anyone you play with or who searches for you, and are stored in our cloud database (Firebase Firestore).

Social Features

If you use friends and messaging features, we store:

  • Your friends list (other users' anonymous IDs and their public display names)
  • Friend requests and game invites you send and receive
  • Users you have blocked
  • Reports you submit about other users (and reports submitted about you, retained for moderation)

Friend requests, invites, and reports are stored in Firebase Firestore and are deleted when no longer needed (e.g., when accepted, declined, or expired).

Real-Time Multiplayer Data

When you play multiplayer matches, we store match state in Firebase Realtime Database for the duration of the match. This includes:

  • Your display name, avatar, and seat in the match
  • Card plays and turn actions
  • Connection state (so we can reconnect you if your network drops)

Match data is automatically deleted shortly after a match ends.

Online Presence

To show whether your friends are online and to support reconnection, we store a presence record indicating you are connected, your subscription tier, and the timestamp of your last disconnection. This is stored in Firebase Realtime Database and is deleted when you delete your account.

Push Notification Tokens

If you grant notification permission, we store your device's push notification token (a unique identifier issued by Apple or Google) so we can deliver notifications about friend requests, game invites, and your turn in multiplayer matches. Tokens are stored in Firebase Firestore and are deleted when you delete your account or disable notifications.

Purchase History

When you make in-app purchases or subscribe to VIP membership, we collect purchase information through RevenueCat, our payment processor. This includes:

  • Products purchased
  • Subscription status and expiration dates
  • Transaction identifiers

This data is used to unlock premium features and restore your purchases across devices. Purchase and subscription records are retained after account deletion to comply with tax, accounting, and consumer-protection obligations (typically 7 years).

Usage Data

We collect information about how you interact with the app to improve your experience:

  • Games played and scores
  • Features used
  • Quest and achievement progress

This helps us understand how players enjoy the game and identify areas for improvement.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter on our website, we collect:

  • Your email address
  • Date of subscription
  • How you found us (referral source)

We use this information to send you updates about new game features, tips, and occasional announcements. We will never sell or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

Our app uses the following third-party services:

Firebase (Google)

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat processes purchase data on our behalf. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Apple Game Center

On iOS, if you sign in to Game Center we use it to display achievements. Apple collects and processes Game Center data according to Apple's Privacy Policy.

PostHog (Website Only)

We use PostHog on our website for analytics and session replay. PostHog collects anonymized usage data and may record browsing sessions to help us improve the website. This data is only collected if you accept cookies. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.

Website Cookies & Analytics

Our website (irish25cardgame.com) uses cookies, Google Analytics, and PostHog to understand how visitors use our site. This data helps us improve the website experience.

What We Collect

If you accept cookies, we collect:

  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referral source (how you found us)
  • Device type and browser
  • Approximate location (country/region)
  • Button clicks (e.g., App Store, Google Play)
  • Session recordings (mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling on the website)

This data is anonymous and cannot identify you personally. Session recordings do not capture any text you type into form fields.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You can delete your account at any time through the app's Settings menu. When you delete your account, we erase your profile, friends list, inbox, blocked list, online presence, push tokens, game progress, and reports you submitted.

Some data is retained after account deletion:

  • Purchase and subscription records — retained to comply with tax, accounting, and consumer-protection obligations (typically 7 years).
  • Reports submitted about you by other users — retained for moderation and legitimate-interest grounds.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information. All data is transmitted using encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and stored securely using industry-standard practices.

Children's Privacy

Our app is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app uses anonymous identifiers that do not identify individual users.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data through the app
  • Delete your account and associated data via Settings > Delete Account (subject to the retention exceptions noted above)
  • Block or report other players from within the app
  • Opt out of push notifications in your device settings
  • Opt out of Game Center by signing out in your device settings
  • Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or at irish25cardgame.com/unsubscribe
  • Request deletion of your newsletter data by emailing us
  • Change your website cookie preferences at any time
